Erin Iverson, Sisters Project Peru volunteer

Erin Iverson

Erin Iverson is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist who holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Nutrition Science and Public Health. Erin has spent the majority of her early career as a Dietitian in the Community Nutrition space. She has worked in Family Health and Nutrition for Prevention of Chronic Disease, and is currently based out of Washington DC where she does outpatient counseling for community members living with chronic disease ranging from Diabetes and Kidney Disease, to those in treatment for different forms of Cancer. While her skills are not fluent, she has spent years in all school levels and career using Spanish to communicate nutrition education to families and is excited to continue to build these skills with Sisters Project in order to develop and implement nutrition education to the Huacahuasi community.

“I believe everyone deserves access to quality nutrition education because nutrition plays a role in everyone’s life. Food has the incredible power to support the body, promote well-being, and bring peace and confidence to our relationship with overall health. While every individual's experience with nutrition is unique, if I can provide an avenue for an individual or community to navigate their own health outcomes, I believe I can help make the world a more beautiful place.”

When she is not engaging in this work directly, Erin enjoys rock climbing, hiking, learning guitar, and practicing yoga.
