Dr. Lucero Torres

Physician & Community Health Educator

Lucero is a medical doctor from Lima, Peru. In 2023, she completed a one-year rural medical service program in the Peruvian Andes. Living and working there gave her a firsthand understanding of the healthcare challenges and social disparities faced by many underserved communities. This experience inspired her to continue working with these communities to improve access to healthcare and help close these gaps.

That same year, she had the opportunity to volunteer with FNE International, joining medical brigades in Cusco and Lambayeque. Two years later, she joined Sisters Project Peru. Since then, she has helped lead high school and community workshops as well as health education activities such as dental hygiene and anemia prevention in Huacahuasi.

Outside of medicine, Lucero enjoys spending time with her church community, dancing salsa, and planning her next hiking adventure.
